Project description
During the war, a small apartment building grew up in the then urban suburbs, next to the Tobacco Factory.
The era shaped it, it almost escaped the elements of the twenties and relied on socialist beginnings.
Spacious rooms, one for sleeping, the other living room, a cramped room for a maid, a small bathroom and a kitchen partitioned by the fireplace, escaped the upgrades and waited for us in its original form.
We respectfully undertook the renovation with precise replicas of doors and windows, use of materials is authentic to quietly blend with the old parquet. The furniture spun from the unruly soul and the lines of the time found their expression.
Ginkgo is a tree of happiness.
The central motif is a leaf of a Japanese tree, ginkgo, through a chandelier and custom-made dining chairs. The natural carpet and glass table are designed around the room and create a corner section with a custom-designed bench. The natural motif is followed by wallpaper with birds in brass.
The golden line connects all the central spaces.
Black, wood and brass
The kitchen part on one side and the sideboard with the dining area create harmony - the wooden parts, black color and brass are reflected in the asymmetry.
A cupboard that draws from the past
We designed the kitchen cupboard with the inspiration of the 1950s, we used the right materials - wooden lower part, brass, local stone counter and curved glass on the upper part
Hallway
We kept all three original doors of different widths, but added new, higher ones, thus clearly expressing the difference between private and public. The combination of black terrazzo with gold stones is complemented by a glass cabinet and a mirror with a brass frame, which visually enlarge the space, accessories and hooks are in brass, and chandeliers are made of Murano glass.
Bathroom
The design of the bathroom has changed quite a bit. The former pantry has been replaced by a spacious shower, which also serves as a transitional part to the balcony. The tiles are made in the old style, where each is unique and create beautiful light games. Natural wallpaper catches mirrors and creates a pleasant ambience, light is added by chandeliers and LED lights under the cabinets and in a niche above the bath. Brass fittings are carefully selected and connected to the gold line, brass construction at the shower and hooks. The cabinet is custom made of oak wood.
